Trout’s Boatyard is based in Topsham Devon. It’s a family owned and run business which offers a range of boatyard services for boats old and new. In addition, the Trout family have been boatbuilding since 1902 and are extremely proud of their family history and boatyard heritage.
In line with a rebrand of their logo and other marketing collateral our client wanted a short business overview video which showcased some of their main core services. The video needed to encapsulate the working practices and ethos of the boatyard which has a ‘no nonsense’ honest approach to all maritime projects undertaken. The video was designed to feature on their social media accounts as well as on their main website, so it had to be short, informative and to the point.
What did we do?
Observing the brief guidelines, it was decided that a timelapse video would portray their vision in the best way. We spent two mornings filming the team craning boats out of the water, cleaning down hulls and storing the boats away for winter. Additionally, we were able to film footage of the team derigging and taking down masts.
We also wanted to create an establishing aerial shot which would showcase the new logo. We included aerial shots of the mooring and marina facilities to complete the video and so to achieve this we used a drone which is fast becoming the most sought-after tool in our toolbox!
A happy client who is delighted with the video because it capturers their team and services in the way that they had envisaged.
Rockstone Media are fantastic. They have helped to bring us into the 21st century with brand new services show reel to go on to our website and social media platforms. The team used a mixture of standard videography as well as drone footage which really gave the piece, they created an edge. We feel they have captured not just our “good side” but also our authentic side. We couldn’t be more pleased with the piece they have produced. As well as creating the show reel, the guys were also incredibly knowledgeable about social media and went out of their way to offer advice and even sent some files they had created with tips and tricks for the various platforms. 10/10, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
